I had never heard of this show before; it was just like a gift from a stranger. And when I watched it for the first time. Sssh! I can’t express how good I felt and I considered this a gift. Now this is in my top 5 TV shows list.

A year ago I made a friend on Instagram, a Turkish girl studying law. She suggested me this show, she told me all the things that it’s great, and blah, blah, I was like, yeah, I’ll take the time, and I’ll add this one too in my watch list.

And the day came when I thought I should give it a go and I watched it. And yeah, now here I am expressing my feelings and forcing you to watch this show, it’s great! I suggested this to my friends, and of course they loved it too, plus its theme song is so good!

The show consists of 3 seasons; it’s a historical drama, portraying the great famous bankers of the Renaissance era, The Medici. Their tragic lives, relations, complications, their sacrifices. You will learn history here, history which will not make you bored.

The timeline goes like this,

In the first season we are looking into the life of Cosimo de’ Medici played by Richard Maiden. And now, in the 2nd season, where it gets more interesting, we are looking into the lives of the grand children of Cosimo de’ Medici.

What makes this show great is its character development. From the side to the main character, everyone is playing their part at its best.

The rhythm of the theme song along with the story is fantastic.

I bet you’re gonna cry; trust me you will in the end.

It’s been a long time, and I have forgotten a lot of things which were great about this show. I was thinking for a re-watch, but I can’t. There are others on the list, but for now I wanted you to know that this show is a gem, and you should watch this, pure art if I say.

Through this show I got to know more about the Renaissance era, the relation of the Pope with these bankers; the relation and the life of the great polymath, Leonardo Da Vinci (There is another great show for this, Da Vinci’s Demons)

So overall the experience was great… plus the cast. See by yourself.

I guess that’s all.
