My Top 3 Acting Inspirations

This journey of mine started a time ago; there are few people, few artists who I think have played a vital role in making me this who I am today as an Artist!

I love acting, I love films. I love actors. At the time, I was getting into acting, of course, I didn’t know much, about the actors, acting, or the films. Right now, I’m inspired by a lot of actors, brilliant ones, but today I’m gonna talk about those who inspired me in the beginning when I didn’t know anything about this art, i.e. Acting.

The number one is of course the famous T.V actor, Ian Somerhalder.

If you’ve watched The Vampire Diaries, then you don’t need any introduction. The first person if I say who made me do the act for the first time, I got so much inspired by him when I was watching him in the above mentioned show, he was doing so well. I feel sad about him sometimes, that he hasn’t worked much in this field. He has, but either the show/movie was lame or he got the bit part.

It was winter, I’m watching the show. I took the printout of script of the first episode of The Vampire Diaries. I’m practicing the part in which we see Ian Somerhalder first time, the time when in the show Damon meets his younger brother Stefan.

I practiced that scene with my brother; it was the first time I was acting. I didn’t know anything, my accent, my confidence, everything shit. But I was doing it with passion. I remember my brother was laughing again and again, seeing me doing horrible expressions, trying to copy Ian Somerhalder.

So that’s how it began. I got inspired by a T. V actor.

Johnny Depp

Who doesn’t know him? The legend himself. The pinnacle of this art thought he hadn’t won an Oscar but his career, it’s something which I’ll say pure art. The diversity of the characters he has played.

Like many other people. First time I watched Pirates Of The Caribbean, first time when I saw Johnny Depp. Later on I got to know that he was also playing Willy Wonka in Charlie And The Chocolate Factory. Wow, why didn’t I recognized him. But later on, when I watched almost every of his movie, I got to know that he’s not an ordinary actor; the characters he has played are out of this world, pure art.

And then simply I become his fan! And he become my inspiration.

My fav Johnny Depp’s films: What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, Blow, Sleepy Hollow, Secret Window, Donnie Brasco, Finding Neverland.

Adrian Brody

Known for winning the Oscar for his performance in the Pianist in 2003. Though he has won an Oscar, I think he is underrated and slowly he just got vanished from the industry.

Afterwards, we’re only seeing Adrian playing side characters, and his career took a fall. I got inspired by him when I watched the pianist, later on his acting in season 4 of Peaky Blinders, playing Luca Changretta.

Also, his movie Detachment is so great plus underrated (I will write separately for this)

He is great, but right now I’m not seeing him getting enough attention, not seeing him getting the roles I know he can master at. And probably get enough recognition again, or maybe the actor is just giving it a pause.

So overall, these 3 artists were the ones, I got inspired from in choosing this path, to become an actor. Later on more came, like Al Pacino, D. D Lewis, Hugh Jackman etc. And everyone of them is great, but here I was talking about the first ones, who I saw first and got inspired to do acting.

And maybe one day, I’ll meet them all, or maybe I will be working with them, who knows?

I guess that’s all.

“I always had an actor, within me” _ Adrian Brody
